da aviator aposta: Rangers fans have ripped Borna Barisic to shreds on Twitter following their lacklustre draw to Progres Niederkorn on Thursday evening.
da 888casino: The result may have meant the Light Blues qualified for the next stage of the Europa League and will meet Danish outfit FC Midtjylland for a place in the play-off round of the competition, but Steven Gerrard was far from happy with what he saw.
“It’s just one of those nights. I won’t even watch this game back,” he said, as quoted by BBC Sport.
“Looking back 12 months, I remember Shkupi being a grind, Maribor being a grind, and we’re going to have to play better.”
Barisic is one individual who is clearly going to have to play better moving forward, should he be given the chance to do so, although Football Insider reported he had given his chances of remaining at Ibrox a boost recently. The Croatia international was hooked at half-time because of fears of ill-discipline and the opportunity he may have presented the referee in brandishing another card.
“I took Borna off at half-time because I can’t take any risks with him. It wasn’t even a foul, the guy just ran into him but they were fouling all night long,” Gerrard was quoted as saying by the Daily Record.
The Scottish Sun were not kind in their ratings for the left-back, as they handed him a measly four out of ten as they wrote: “The Croat has yet to convince Steven Gerrard. Booked after just nine minutes, rather harshly to be fair, the Gers boss took no chances and hooked the left-back at half-time…4.”
Indeed, fans were also unforgiving in their assessment of the 26-year-old’s performance, with many of them taking the opportunity to slate him.
Here are just some of their reactions…
