da heads bet: Leeds United director of football Victor Orta admitted in a Q&A, via the Yorkshire Evening Post’s Phil Hay on his official Twitter account, on Monday that it will be difficult for the club to keep key duo Pontus Jansson and Samu Saiz at the club this summer if they want to go, and Whites fans have been quick to tell the club what they must do in order to ensure they stay.
da imperador bet: Asked if the Yorkshire outfit would be able to retain the pair for next season if United fail to go up – they currently lie five points adrift of the play-off positions – he said they would be keen to keep them but it will be hard if they want to leave like Chris Wood did last summer.
Saiz has quickly become an influential attacking player for the Whites and he has scored nine goals and provided a further six assists in 27 appearances in all competitions, while Jansson perhaps hasn’t been as good as he was last season, but he is another key part of the team.
Leeds supporters took to social media to give some advice to the club after Orta’s honest admission, and while one said “show ambition”, another said “just refuse to sell”.
Here is just a selection of the Twitter reaction…
