da stake casino: Claude Puel has arrived at Southampton amid another minor crisis for the Saints. Ronald Koeman’s departure, the sale of Sadio Mane and the loss of Victor Wanyama have left the club in relative turmoil and it is time for some vital ship-steadying. The club seems to have a little panic like this each summer, yet it is almost guaranteed that they will make it through these choppy waters without as much as a scar.
da prosport bet: The loss of Wanyama is the big one in many ways. For all the change at Southampton, Wanyama has been a reliable constant and a rock of their midfield. Now he has followed Mauricio Pochettino to Tottenham, the Hampshire outfit are left with a large hole in their midfield and there is one way to fix this: money.
Of all the money that’ll be spent this summer, how Southampton opt to replace Wanyama will be one of the most interesting narratives. It could give a good indication of the direction the side will go in, too.
Here are FIVE that we think might just be on their radar…
Jonjo Shelvey
Although Shelvey could not single-handedly keep Newcastle in the Premier League, the former Swansea midfielder clearly made an impact upon their midfield with his passing range and hard tackling.
Shelvey, although not as defensively astute as Wanyama, is arguably a more rounded player and could even develop into a regista if coached correctly.
Joe Allen
Allen has had a splendid EUROs with Wales and, for that much alone, Jurgen Klopp may well be wary of letting the ‘Welsh Xavi’ go.
Unfortunately for Allen, new midfielders are likely to be signed by Liverpool and this could shunt him further down the pecking order. With James Milner, Jordan Henderson and Emre Can already preferred, a transfer could be the best option for Allen.
Although he is markedly different to Wanyama, Allen would allow Oriol Romeu to play as the deepest midfielder and perhaps create higher up the pitch.
Lucas Biglia
Biglia is a player that has always been touted for a Premier League move, but it is yet to come in to fruition.
A member of the Argentinian side that suffered recent Copa America heartbreak, Biglia is a tough defensive midfield player who was one of the highest tackling players in Serie A last season.
A feisty enforcer, Biglia would be as hard to compete with as any Premier League player.

Maxime Gonalons
Gonalons, who has been a mainstay at Lyon for several years, is a versatile player who can fill in at either central defender or defensive midfielder.
The Frenchman has gained a huge amount of experience playing in Ligue 1 and could surely be an adept replacement in the Saints midfield. The question is, with a new stadium, would Gonalons welcome a move?

James McCarthy
Despite falling a little off the radar of late, James McCarthy is the sort of industrious midfielder that would compensate for Romeu’s lack of mobility.
Injury has damaged his development of late, but the Everton man will still be a crucial player for the Toffees on his return. It might be a shade unlikely that Koeman would be willing to let a player of McCarthy’s calibre go, but he certainly has all the attributes to succeed in the Southampton midfield.
