Everton have already been linked with a host of players since the January transfer window closed, which is perhaps little surprise given the underperformance of their current set of players.
Carlo Ancelotti will also be keen to mould the squad in his image, so could look to sign players he has previously worked with or those with a little more pedigree who would have previously overlooked a move to the Merseyside outfit.
The Toffees also have players currently out on loan such as Jonjoe Kenny who will be coming back to Goodison Park next season, and with Djibril Sidibe’s own loan spell ending the youngster could get his chance to shine.
That may be one of a number of changes for Everton when they line-up on the opening day of next season, having been linked with defenders and midfielders over the last few weeks.
Here is the potential starting line-up for the 2020/21 season.
Although Ancelotti has improved things at Everton since coming in there are still glaring weaknesses in the squad, most notably in defence.
The Merseyside outfit have conceded 46 goals in 29 league games this term and seven goals in two games against Arsenal and Chelsea under Ancelotti shows he has not been able to fix that issue just yet.

Jordan Pickford made errors against Newcastle and Manchester United so Gianluigi Donnarumma could be lined up to replace him, having been linked to the club last week.
To help him out Ancelotti may also be contemplating the addition of Lille player Gabriel Magalhaes, who could arrive for £30m. The question of who would play alongside him is still up for debate, though Mason Holgate has appeared in every match since the Italian boss came in.
Did he really play for us?! No Everton fan has managed to name all of these obscure Toffees players….
Transfer target Geoffrey Kondogbia would also add much-needed steel to the midfield having averaged 2.4 tackles and 2.2 interceptions per game for Valencia in 2019/20, adding a different dimension to what Everton’s current midfielders provide.
Another astute addition could be Ciro Immobile, who has found the net 30 times in 33 games for Lazio this year. These additions could improve the Toffees in a variety of areas and therefore fans have a lot to be excited by.
Meanwhile Everton fans have been reacting to an interesting transfer development…
