Mullin missed all of Wrexham's pre-season tour in America, and he was not able to return in time to feature in his side's first game in League One for 19 years. Although his replacement, Jack Marriott, filled the Welshman's void comfortably, scoring a beautiful volley for the Red Dragons' second of the game. He showed strong link-up play with Ollie Palmer as Wrexham arrived in League One in style.
WHAT MULLIN SAID
It seemed as if Mullin shared the view that this was a strong beginning to their campaign, and was also complimentary of Marriott on his own Instagram story.

Despite Marriott's strike, Mullin will be likely to return to the starting line-up once he recovers from his surgery. Manager Phil Parkinson will hope that Marriott will continue in this vein in the meantime as Wrexham try to make a statement in League One this season, as their Hollywood story continues.
